Unexpected phal spike! Male
Default Unexpected phal spike!

After seeing that I could not only get a phal to grow, but bloom as well, my family thought it would be lovely to have some downstairs..
They choose a big planter, and all picked a phal out from HD...
And told me to make them live.
Some of them were in bad shape and didn't make it some of them have gone nuts.
Anyhow.. they were bought in bloom about six months ago, so I wasn't really expecting anything this season. I figured they were gonna spend it adjusting.
Which all if them are, except one.. which had decided to put out a single, albeit small, happy spike with a few buds.
I have to say it came off an old spike so I didn't notice it until just now.
It was squished pretty bad into the window...
Hope it didn't adversely affect the flowers.
Thus makes it my third ever orchid I've rebloomed, and only my fourth time reblooming an orchid.
How exciting!

Thanks...
It was curled into a circle and the growing tip was smashed against the first bud. It grew into the window without me noticing.
It looks on now though thankfully.
