Does the glass ball have water at the base and you just add mor as it dries out?

Hey thx.... Re watering, I tilted the glass globe enough so that the lower rim would allow water to flow out during watering without having to drill holes in the glass and still give the plant a normal sh depth reservoir. So imagine this being an upright container, I would go up from the bottom a bit and drill the holes to allow water to exit the inside. Only here the hole for the water is the actual edge of the container. What you don't see is a clear mesh jus smaller that the hydroton that is fastened to the opening with just enough of an opening to allow the Phal to be planted at the top. Keeps the hydroton inside, the Phal snug in its new home, allows for water to drain out freely while leaving a decent reservoir and I topped it off with some of this plant called baby's tears, which grows like a damn weed and yes, seems to help not so much with humidity but it seems to help well with has exchange for the pot.
