Default Phal Leaf Size

Here's a newbie question.
I have a new leaf that is 1/2 the size of the old ones and there is already another leaf starting. I assume the 1/2 size leaf will continue to grow out to the size of the older ones while the brand new leaf comes in. Am I right?

Sometimes a leaf will come out stunted because of conditions. It probably won't be as large as the others, but don't sweat it. Change in environment can do it, but once it settles into your grow area it will set its growth/bloom cycles to match your environment.

I agree, but am also wondering how long this new leaf has been growing. Just my 2 cents. I've had new leaves not reach full potential for about a year or longer. Am I wrong in assuming that's natural?

Hmmm...food for thought. I'm actually growing this basic pure white Phal. in a terrarium under very humid and bright conditions. This is following a couple years of indoor neglect where the plant was too dry, too dark and didn't do much. Now the little guy has been in the terrarium for about 3 months I think, has roots going all over and growth happening quickly, so it kinda makes sense that things are not settled.

My phals spend about 6 months making a new leaf. Sometimes eight.
