Default Mini Phals

So I have these two mini phals I'd got for the supermarket for $10 each. I'm currently painting the purple one. Forgive the pictures (especially of the green one) as I asked my boyfriend to take photos while I was at work before all the light went away for the day.

I fell in love with this little mini phal right away. To the point where I am painting it in watercolours It's so far still growing in moss, but the drainage seems to be really good, and the roots look wonderful. Hopefully it blooms again!

This little green one was one of them "Ice orchids" that you are only supposed to water once a week with an ice cube. I've opted not to do this, as it is in moss and is so ridiculously dry that I think I'm going to have to give it a good soak. Roots don't look too bad, but they could be better. Boyfriend managed to get the two oldest flowers on the plant, so they don't look so great, but he DID get the keiki at the base, which was why I picked this particular one

First one looks like a Dtps. Sogo Vivien and the second one looks like a Dtps. Sogo Gotris (but as long as you can't confirm this from the nursery or similar, they both are considered as NoID:s).

Both are very, very cute, and you did the right thing when not using an ice cube to water, which must be the silliest selling scheme ever! They originate from tropical areas and it rains ice cubes there once a week, or what? No, give it a soak, as you had planned, and take it from there instead.
