Phal. Wiganiae
This is a very nice primary hybrid (schilleriana x stuartiana) and is my favorite Phal in my collection. I got it almost 4 years ago as a young blooming size plant, and the flower count improves year after year, with now side branches starting to appear. This is always one I look forward to seeing bloom again, so see how it will outdo itself!
I had ALOT of trouble getting some good photos. I'm still learning my dslr camera's capabilities and kept getting washed out colors. Luckily I got lots of useful advice/suggestions on OB, and finally got the perfect shots! So thanks guys!

It's a real darling you've got there Camille. And great photos (as per-usual).
Do you have any photos of the entire plant? I thought it might be interesting to compare yours with my own Wiganiae.

I don't have any, and the poor plant is in sorry shape right now. While taking the pics it was on a stool, and the guinea pig was out for his evening roam. I didn't notice him go under the stool, and violently head butt it. The orchid went flying. It landed crown first. Some broken blooms, the newest leaf got torn off, and the entire top of the crown is very wobbly.
But it's a small plant, it never has more than 3 leaves at once.

Beautiful! That's a cross of two of my favorite species. Does it have variegated foliage? Both the parent plants do.

Your little guinea pig has it in for your favourites, doesn't he? Poor, poor little Wiganiae...
I hope it manages to recover for you, me and my Wiganiae will keep fingers and leaves crossed.

Yes, the leaves are variegated like the parents.
Here's the thread of when it bloomed about 3 years ago, with a photo of the leaves. The leaves have heavier mottling now though, since I increased the light levels.

The guinea pig has it for THIS orchid! This is the orchid that he nibbled the young spike off of last year when the plant was sitting in a bucket of water on the floor.

I know I shouldn't laugh, but it's so typical! So far, my cats haven't targeted any of my favourties, instead it's me who juggles with them so they land upside down instead (on their spikes, naturally).

And to think that I'm considering adopting a cat.... That's asking for trouble, and lots of it!
