Pretty neat, good color and looks really flat. First bloom?

James yours looks like it may have some gigantea in it based on the size of the flowers and the spotting.

Agreed. Seeing that yours is a NoID, its most definitely a complex hybrid. Ben's is a select novelty hybrid coming from some excellent breeding lines.

It looks like that in the pic but in reality it was a flat yet shiny red with no mottling at all. The flower was about two to two and a half inches across. It lasted about 4 months until I sold it with most of the rest of my collection. I liked it but needed to down size as I thought I had another job and couldn't take it all with me. Job fell through. Still happy here at the beach. The blue of the lip is what makes me think it is the same. It was a rescue so I don't know the parentage. Not Home Cheapo or Trader Joes. Came via the species group's sale table at big spring show for San Diego Orchid Society. All donated stuff from vendors and collectors. Best place to get plants cheap.

They do look very similar James. The petals and sepals on yours look rounder though. The form on Ben's seems quite different to my eyes. In any case they are both beautiful plants. What a pity you no longer have yours!
