Exciting bud, Jennifer Palermo
After me fearing it wouldn't look like the picture on the vendor's website (that it would look more like a "normal" Jennifer Palermo, instead of the splash of colour that's shown on the website), I think it maybe will have pretty saturated colour. Now, since it hasn't opened yet, it's hard to tell, but considering how much colour that has "bled" through to the backside of the petals/sepals, it's not impossible I'll get a winner this time around (have been fooled before by pictures on the vendors' sites)!
Here it is in its cerise and spotted glory :
It has lifted up from the spike, which I've noticed the buds on the violacea hybrids I have, tend to do when it's time to open.

Hehe, don't worry, I will.
It has started to open now! And it looks very promising I must say.
I took two pictures of it, but since it was so dark outside, I had to place it next to one of the daylight bulbs I have, since my camera is so light sensitive (meaning, not enough bright light, and it can't focus properly). I think I managed to capture the colour correctly this time, but I'm not too sure about the saturation. I lowered it in my editing program, so I think it's okay at least.
I think I'm going to fall in love with it...

I just have to leave you guys with one more picture before it's nappy time. Tomorrow I think it'll be completely open, and MAN, do I love the colour or what?! It's gorgeous! And very hard to capture... I did my best anyway.

I agree. I love the shape of the violacea hybrids' buds. They're very aesthetically pleasing.

Dun-dun-DUUN!
Here she is! My little darling is almost completely open now, and I got some direct sunlight so my camera didn't have too much trouble doing it's job.
I think I managed to capture the colour properly this time (at least it looks like it on my monitor) and I'm sooo pleased with this Phal, not only do I love the colour, but the form look really promising too.
Enjoy!
