My fragrant NOID red is making some more buds, some of which are about to open looking like your first photo. waxy dark reddish buds with some spots visible. can't wait for them to open! yay~

The second bud has started to open (again the light is too blue in the picture, but at least you can tell that the old flower has faded considerably and the new one seems to have even more red in it):
