I presume they were flowering/ or just finished when you got them in those small pots ? And the flowers were less than say 1 and 1/2 inches in size ? If so, then they won't get much bigger.
Its only the standard phals, and some species like gigantea and equestris, that grow larger each year........and by larger I mean the leaves. Flowers remain the same size regardless of maturity for both types.
