Hi Ross, true, one never argues with a well rooted plant, but over the years I have come to suspect some plants like to toy with our minds...paranoid? I think NOT!
highest regards, mary
Isn't that the case Can't tell you the number of 'chids I've had that threw me a loop so to speak.
I have a lot of species Phals. it is not uncommon for them to hold an older spike until next blooming season , what ever you do don't cut it off if still green ..
I wouldn't worry, some phals are just late bloomers lol... when I bought my first one, it stopped flowering until about three weeks later when it adjusted to my growing conditions. If you still feel like something is wrong, check the roots for any damage or rot, and possibly prune them.
But I am a newbie, so take my advice with a grain of salt lol.
