Purple Martin x Fire Cracker
Well when I ordered this I mistakenly thought I had ordered a Phal Kenneth Schubert x Fire Cracker. I loved the one Jarad posted earlier.
So instead of a beautiful magenta I now have a pretty indigo. The fragrance is wonderful, which is what i was hoping for. If only there was a way to let everyone smell it!!
Hope you enjoy it too!

Beautiful! I might be interested in that one. I have Purple Martin and really like it. It blooms all summer for me. This new cross looks like it might even have better color than Purple Martin.

Thanks for the kind comments Tucker and Paul.
Tucker I got this from Orchids.com. I do believe as I have a PM too that the color is more vibrant and darker. It is as you see it, no adjusts made to the pic and it looks very accurate on my monitor. This does fade somewhat as the flowers age and I think they then look more like PM.

Looks like yet another great "mistake!" Color looks great, and sorry we can't join in on the smell!

Beautiful! I love purple Martin and all the varieties thereof. Mine rewards me with blooms constantly so I hope this next hybrid does for you as well.

How gorgeous, what a great mistake! The color is outstanding. I have a Purple Martin, but it just sits there, doing nothing...

Don't you love orchids.com's selections? Sure they have loads of standard phals but they also carry violacea and Bellina influenced plants. I only wish they'd carry more Gigantea hybrids, too.

Thanks Jarad, Ryan, Sonya and Camille!
Yes this was a great mistake, but I am totally happy that I made it! Both the color and fragrance are fanastic. I don't think I could have done better if I tried!
Ryan, yes I do love Normans! I always manage to find something to buy. And the good thing is most times what I get is in spike wheither I ordered it that way or not! They are my second favorite after Big Leaf.
Tucker, go for it!
