Thanks all for the commentary. As expected, the fragrance is a lot of violacea. Not as strong as the species itself, but it comes out nice and cinnamony during mi-day.
Glad I could enable you Judi, but I dont believe Norman has this for sale on Orchids.com, but it wouldn't surprise if he had some not on the website.

Yup getting it from Normans. Was listed on their site this AM. Glad it smells like violaceas, I love that scent!

Judi- Where are you seeing this cross on Orchids.com? I just looked and couldn't find it. I saw some that had one of the parents of Jared's plant but I didn't see this exact cross.

OOPPPSSS!!! Jarad & Wynn Dee, your right! In my excitement of seeing the flower pictured on Orchids.com I guess my brain just saw what it wanted to see. The cross is (Dtps. Purple Martin x Dtps. Fire Cracker) not Kenneth Schubert x Fire Cracker. Oh well! The price is right so with any luck the bloom will be similar. A mistake, but one I can live with!

Actually you should still get a really nice flower out of this Judi, as Kenneth Schubert is a parent of Purple Martin. An since PM was made with a violacea, hopefully it too will keep the lovely cinnamon scent!
