This is the natural growing orientation for phals, with the crown pointing down towards the ground. You could spray it 24/7 and you would be hard pressed to get any serious accumulation of water in its crown. Any that did would drain out almost immediately after the flow of water ceased. Pretty smart plant, eh?

Steven, the natural growing orientation for phals explains it all....so it is growing them in pots in a upright position that is un-natural for them! I will have to come and see your collection once the cold weather sets in and things slow down. Thanks for the help!
