The genus is Phalaenopsis and it will say so in the tag or you can look at the characteristics of the leaves, crown and root= altho there are some paraphalaenopsis with no leaves yet the flower will have the form of the genus...and some of the miniatures sometimes have some traits that veer away from Phal characteristics....there are many species and hybrids...and hopefully they will say so in the tag too...but if you just look at the plant, spike, leaves, crown, roots and the flower; it can be quite hard to ascertain the exact name and hybrid for any orchid.
