How can I make it bloom like this again??
My wife bought me this Phal as a present. It has eight flower sticks full of flowers that seems to support them with no problem! Is it difficult to make it happen again??

Wow, that's gorgeous!!! I had no idea that Phals could have so many spikes.
While you certainly can get multiples again, I think it will be very very difficult to get that many again. Commercial growers know exactly how to tweak their growing conditions to get that many spikes, by precisely controlling temperature and light.

HOLY HECK! I would be amazed at THREE but EIGHT!??? (please call a doctor to check my pulse...) but really that is awesome from one plant! To be completely honest with you i dont think that plant will ever have eight spikes ever again in the home conditions. I would say a max of three, but even one or two are priceless treasures to behold! it is very difficult to impossible to get results like that in a home environment... but best of luck, maby you have a robust breed

I think your orchid may have a health problem, in fact it could infect your other plants. You should probably send it to me for testing purposes, ya know, just to make sure it isn't sick. I may have to keep it, just so it doesn't hurt your other plants. HAHA, ok seriously, WOW! I've never seen 8 spikes from one Phal. That's crazy. There are definitely genetics involved to some degree in how many spikes a Phal will produce, but store bought Phals will almost always have more spikes than can be induced in the home. But I wouldn't be surprised if you get 4 spikes next go round, since the original grower was able to get 8. Congrats!
