Unexpected buds coming!
Default Unexpected buds coming!

This is the newest addition to my phalaenopsis family.
Phalaenopsis tend to take up lots of space with leaves spanning wide, so I either wanted no more or really cute minis if any.

The flowers on this one resemble Blushing Bride but the plant itself was quite petite with only about 8in across.
So without much thinking I grabbed it.
The flower is only sligthly smaller than regular large phal reaching 4in across.
The thing was it had less flower count with only 6, but looked good enough on small plant.
The spike had no sign of producing any more.

I had it near my bed (deep deep shade) just to enjoy the flowers. never really looked closely in the last one month or so.
then just the other day as I was lying on my bed looking up, I noticed the spike was making more buds.
That was a very nice surprise as it was totally unexpected.

Definitely a keeper for me

I don't know much about the name, but I see phals with this same coloring all the time. They are all much larger though.

The name on the tag could be unregistered and once they make it to USA, nurseries may sell with different names. I heard this is a common practice with unregistered orchids. so who knows?

when I bought this plant, there were quite a few, all of which were smaller than the regular large phal, but I picked the smallest of them all.
