reblooming my phals - tempurature drop
Cool reblooming my phals - tempurature drop

Hello, would anyone be able to tell me if a 2 degree drop in tempurature be enough to cause a phal (hybrid and species) to start to rebloom? I grow both hybrids and species and have been trying to lower the night temps enough to start my chids to rebloom. I have been covering the side of the stand nearest a slightly opened window so they don't get a direct cold blast. I grow underlights near a window and have been checking every day for that "special numb" but no luck so far.

regards, mary

Mary,

Many growers recommend a drop of 6 to 10 degrees during the nite,
I don't drop my tempts and they bloom, so I'm not really sure why folks target the coolness for success.
Your phals may not show spikes until oct or even nov.
Species tend to wait til the spring and summer months, but for us it maybe in early fall, its the growing zones.

Right now I have a nobile den that is a spring bloomer. Instead of blooming then, it'll bloom in the next few days.
The weather has been pretty weird too. So much for the cool & dry period .
