Dorothy,

Just checked. Actually, mine is the 'Amethyst' LOL! Does that mean I have to go back to Hausermann's for the other one now?

Dorothy,

Is that Phal violacea ('Tequila Sunset x var 'Borneo') in your avatar? If so, I just picked that up at Hausermann's too. LOL!

You may just have to get the other
My avatar is Phal. violacea 'Tequila Sunset' x Phal. violacea 'Tequila Sunset'
I do have the 'Tequila Sunset x var. Borneo' and the major difference is that the lip and lower sepals of TS x var. B is a much deeper purple than TS x TS - my TS x var. B is in bud and I will post photos once it has bloomed
Aaaaaaaaah! The fragrance!

Oh ok. I actually picked up the Phal. violacea 'Tequila Sunset' x Phal. violacea 'Tequila Sunset' but put it back down. Since I have limited space, I'm trying to have as much variety in my little collection as possible (that is, while staying with phals, cattleyas and my few dendrobiums.) 'Tequila Sunset x var. Borneo' was on my wishlist already so I stuck with that one. Saw one in bloom while I was there and it smelled wonderful. I bought a little guy though so I've got a while to wait. Definitely post photos once yours blooms.

Going through my photos, I did find the one flower the plant came with. I was in bud when it arrived. The superior sepal never did open completely but you can see how dark the lip is.

Ok ok I know

Hey Todd,

The hijack wasn't so bad. I have 'Amethyst' and also that violacea. They are my adopted babies, so they are like step-sisters now, making the topic somewhat related.
