yes - I see its a mericlone at Norman's. It's a good price.
I couldn't find any when I looked a couple of month's back.

Mine is rarer in that one parent is Violacea "Harford's Ruby",
an orangey-coloured violacea. So the objective would be to seed-propagate with this cultivar and hope for something unusual.

Ryan,

Mine didn't do much of anything unti I put it on a seedling heat mat. With a tiny bit of bottom heat, it's pushed out giant new leaves, new spikes and bloomed off of existing spikes. I think the key is bottom heat.

that seems to be the key. Mine is on a rack above a heating mat and it also reacted very positively. All violacea species/grexes seem to prefer it much warmer than just house temps - well that's my experience anyway.

Outstanding. Anything with violacea I love and the fragrance is amazing.

I agree, bottom heat always helps these warm growers. I have mine with bottom heat and even so its a slow grower. I get good leaves but still slooooow.

I'm not a big fan of this type of phals, but I have to say I really like the coloring of those two lower sepals. Wow~

Update on this guy... Still going strong. When I got this plant it was in bloom and it lost those blooms fast. Over a year later it had a spike that died. Now it has this spike and bloom and its sticking around! Very pleased. It has flatten out some and I hope it'll improve with future blooms.
