Phal Brother Peterstar
First time blooming for me. Didn't even know what it would look like when I got it, as I got it for free from Lowes.

Very nice stripings on the petals. I love the colors on this. How can you get an orchid for free at Lowes's ??!!

Hehe... It looked dead. I'm not joking when I say this, it had no roots and the leaves had shriveled to next to nothing. They were about to toss it when I said, can I have that? They laughed and said sure. I put it in hydroton, in a closed container and kept it super humid...dripping off the container walls humid, and I kept it very clean so nothing else grew but an orchid. It sprouted roots a month later and now two years on it bloomed.
In the end, life wants to continue and like water dammed up in a stream, it'll find a way to keep going.

Nice looking flower and good growing! What is with the hardware stores around here - they get orchids in but all NOIDs. What is it about Lowes? We have one in our city now, but it is a clear 50 minutes from me.

Lowes has been better about having named hybrids but even so, I think this one is a mislabel. Peterstar is a parent plant of sogo Lawrence, so I'm not sure what to make of the label. Home depot is a terrible store when it comes to NOIDs and they are way over priced!

Nice! I never see orchids with blooms like that at my Lowe's. Just the more typical ones.
