Phalaenopsis without any roots Male
Default Phalaenopsis without any roots

About six or seven months ago, one of my phals started to grow a secondary spike. All of a sudden, it stopped and stayed without doing anything for some months. Than suddenly became a triple spike, but only two of the three thrived. Then again, the leaves started yellowing one after another untill I took it out of the pot and I saw all the roots were rotten. I had to cut them all off. The plant still had three leaves and the secondary spikes that were growing and another secondary spike that is growing further under. I've started to water it with B1 to see if it grows any roots. It's amazing how the spikes arte thriving, even without any roots on the plant. I mist it at least once a day with a orchid revitalizer and it is ebven growing bloom buds. I wonder if I'll get a keiki. I guess that will be the only way for the plant to reproduce itself.
Next weekend when I have to water again, I'll take her again out of the pot to see if there are any roots growing. Here some pictures of the plant.

I expect that somewhere in there is a keiki or several! Good luck with it.

So your plant has no live roots or leaves? What is going on there!

Nothing, wether roots nor leaves. I wonder how it's still alive.
I really don't know what went wrong here. It received the same treatment as all my other Phals and most of them are either growing spikes (4 of them are), leaves or roots.
