Phal HP Norton
Finally, one from my HP Norton compots bloomed out. Flower is a nice and interesting bronze artshade, but not solid in color or red like I had hoped. For a first blooming though, the form isn't too bad, so maybe that'll improve. There is a second one in compot shortly to bloom, so maybe we'll have better luck with that one. Anyway, enjoy.

Thanks Islandgirl. This one is in with 4 other larger plants in a large 4" aircone pot. I chose to leave them this way until they all bloomed out so As to minimize the potting effort. They also are doing really well so i figured I wouldn't mess with what is working. Here they are currently...

Jarad, Nice coloring and I like the markings around the column on this.

Since this thread has been reopened, I just realized i never posted the next one to open up and bloom out. Here is the second one to open up. Form was great, and actually was lightly fragrant as well. So, while the solid red color may not come through on this re-cross with different parents, it looks like there is still some interesting stuff to bloom out!

I got this as a compot, so I can't entirely say on the length of flask -> compot -> blooming, but I'd say roughly 3-5 years. Maybe 2 if you're lucky, or 6 if you're me.

They just keep getting better Jarad. the second one has great shape and much less muted color. Hope we can see some more of this cross.

Thanks Dave. I've got about 6-8 of these left to bloom out. I'm hopeful I'll get to see 3 or 4 near the end of fall, and maybe the others next season. I'll keep posting as they come up.
