My peloric NoID

I realized to my big astonishment that I've completely forgotten to show you guys some pictures of my little peloric that is so loyally blooming again.

I spotted this at my local supermarket one day and since I had never seen a peloric chid before I just had to have it! The colour is nothing special, it's more that typically mass-produced washed out mauve that I'm not particularly fond of, but the shape!

I don't know how long I've had it but it's somewhere between three to five years and I think it has bloomed every year since I bought it. It has always had small leaves, but it's no mini Phal since it's not compact enough and the flowers are too large.

This year I re-potted it for the first time since I bought it (I did it while it bloomed) and now the reward has come; a continuing growth of the spike.

It's a bit hard to tell in the photos, but there's actually already a new bud forming. I'm soooo glad I decided to start to care properly for my Phals!

Oh, I forgot to mention - it has a delicate rose fragrance which is very enjoyable.

That is a VERY nice peloric. I have yet to find one. I love yours. Often the petals don't imitate the lip that much. Nice find.

That's a really good peloric! A lot of times it's only partial. I see them from time to time in the supermarket. I'm always tempted, but I never buy one since there's no guarantee that it's permanently peloric.

I couldn't believe it either which was why I snatched it up as soon as I laid my eyes on it! At first I was a bit worried that the "mutation" was only temporary, but as you can see, it isn't. So far the flowers always look like this when it blooms so I think it's quite safe to say it's a permanent little peloric.

I have some keiki paste I'll try to use on it when it has gotten a bit bigger and stronger, to see if the keikis will be peloric as well. I don't want to use it now though since I feel it's too small and scrawny. I don't want to kill it only to get what might be peloric keikis.

If you get keikis, they should be genetically identical to the parent so they should be peloric.

I thought so too, but then I read this: Phal Little Emperor II
so it seems that it's not always the case.

Beautiful! I love how petals mimic the lip so perfectly.
I haven't found a peloric for myself yet. Our local supermarkets and home improvement stores rarely have good quality NoIDs. I've never seen pelorics there.
