I've realized that I'm very lucky to have such "well behaved" cats. The only plant they won't leave alone is the Hibiscus so if they start showing the slightest bit of interest in the Phals, I'll just buy a Hibiscus to distract them with.

Sometimes supplying them with wheat grass or some such greens helps satisfy the urge for greens. Even catnip can help. A little hot pepper and garlic spray on
the foliage should also help and also deter insects.

I've tried wheat grass and catnip pots in the house with no luck. Within a few days, my cats have gluttonously devoured the lush greenery and moved on to the "off limits" greenery. I have several oncidiums with "perforated" leaves...it's not attractive.

Oh, and my gift for providing the grass and catnip to my little darlings? Little globs of, er, "recycled" grass and catnip on my sofa/rug/pillow. Also not attractive.

Sometimes while I'm cuddled up with one of the boys, I ask my husband wistfully "what would we do without our boys?" His response..."Be able to display your orchids around the house." True. So true.

I may have to try the garlic and hot pepper spray, though. That's one I haven't tried.

The things we put up with from our pets! But they are worth it. We don't have cats any more but I must admit that I sometimes miss them. The dog and bird don't touch my orchids though.
