It is a large old plant maybe 6 yrs. old according to the seller I bought this from 2 years ago. It has been an outdoor plant so I first put it in the shadiest part of the fire escape that summer when I first got it and I have just discovered that outdoor plants do not like being taken indoors…they become weird in color and leaves seem to discolor and wrinkle in shape…winter had been weird this season and sometimes it is 50’s to 60’s in the daytime outside and it is a constant 80 inside my heated apartment…so I let it out in the day and bring it indoors at night…it spiked and flowered for me in a magnificent show of blooms…Since this will also rebloom again on the same spike… I am counting on more flowers to come this spring/summer
