I just didnt cut the spike...I let it be...like most Phals in my care...I wait for more reblooms unless the spike browns and dries up...
The stuartiana strain might not rebloom on same spike but the pollen hybrid Lowland Lady that this got most of the characteristics makes it rebloom on same spike...

If you say so but I'm extremely skeptical. Take pictures if and when it produces flowers from a spike that has already finished blooming. It would make for a good article in one of the orchid journals.

Beautiful white! I like the spots on the lip!
Glen, many hybrid Phals produce secondary spikes after the initial flowers on one spike fade. Examine a Phal spike the next time you see one. There are several nodes below where the flower buds form that look like little bumps or small bract-like leaves wrapped around the spike. These bracts can start to grow after the flowers above them fade, thus forming a new, secondary spike on the first one. Some hybrids do this more than others, regardless of whether they have species in their genetic makeup that typically form branching spikes, like venosa, bastianii, etc. I have a large white noid that does this if I let it, though I usually cut the spike to let the plant rest and produce a big show next fall/winter. It certainly doesn't have venosa or similar small multi-spike species in its background, yet it produces these secondary spikes nonetheless.
Also, as long as the very tip of the original spike is still green and living, it can continue to expand and produce buds. There is a Phal. sanderiana in the conservatory I manage that does this. The spike can get over 4 feet long, though it typically only has 3-5 blooms open at one time. New flower buds just keep forming as the tip expands.

What a beautiful phal! I love it. The shape of the lip made me think it might be a primary cross but I looked it up and I guess it's the double dose of stuartiana that does that. Absolutely stunning.
