Default phal spike has hooked tip

Phal has spike with strange hook at the end...also the spike is branching off with another spike. Is this ok? Why is the end hooked? It looks like it will grow down instead of up...Will this correct itself or should it? As a newbe, i've not seen this before.

I've had spikes get "hung up" before in the leaves and they have always staightened out. As long as the spike is healthy it should be fine. Welcome to O.B.

Spikes will go towards the light; just turn it facing the light....it will correct itself...

How many spikes do you have? What made you say it is branching off with another spike ? Please post pictures of this spikes branching off...I am just curious

You can see the side spike starting in the photo he posted.
This thread was double posted, and in the other one someone hypothesized that the growing tip was damaged on one side, causing it to grow in a hook, and the plant started that side spike to compensate.

The hook is still growing but I don't know which way to turn it so it may correct itself. Any ideas? The new spike is very thin and spindly but is growing nicely. By the way this plant also is still in bloom from last summer with two flowers on the end of a long spike.
