camille: Oh, darn. You mean I have to learn the more difficult name for my darling ('Wiganiae')? I didn't know the difference between the names, thank you for informing me!
If you want some added confusion, for some reason the cross is registered under TWO different names! Wiganiae, and Schilleriano-stuartiana. No idea how that came about.
Just a minor correction, hybrid names are never written between apostrophes, that's only for clonal names, for instance: Phal. Wiganiae 'The Mutant'

Alright, Phal. Wiganiae, I'll try to remember that. It's very nice of you to point out when I make mistakes like that otherwise I won't learn. I don't take offense or anything since I'm here to learn after all, so please keep it up.
I'm now your unofficial Padwan on the road to orchid enlightenment.

People generally point out mistakes like that, because they are part of the global conventions of naming. By writing things correctly it avoids any confusion. For instance the biggest confusion can happen when people write a species name starting with an uppercase, which can lead people to think it's a hybrid.
And yes learning is the goal here! When I joined OB over 4 years ago I had no clue what an Oncidium or Cattleya or Paph were, I only knew Phals.
