Absolutely not what I would expect at all!!! Especially because Su-An Cricket is yellowy green, and the alba equestris is a 4n. I don't even know if this colour is even possible with a cross like this. . . Su-An Cricket is (Gelblieber x mannii), but the micholitzii grandparent should (and does) wipe out all colour in Su-An, and that influence should carry into the third generation, especially if an alba was used. I would have to say that it is near impossible for this cross to be Stone Dance. I think you need to contact Patrick to get his thoughts.

Thanks for that info. Knowing that, I would say that his Phal may very be mislabeled, and is actually either a pure equestris, or very close to it. The blooms are typical of the round petal type equestris, and the spike arches in typical equestris fashion.

It's gorgeous!
I can't comment on what it is, but it does seem strange getting that colour with from that cross when the equestris was an alba.

Thanks all!
I do very much love it, and equestris has been my favorite phal from the very beginning of my obession. I have always had soft spot for it. This one has great shape and a lovely dark dusky rose color with a sharp white picotee. I was more shocked about the color because if it was Stone Dance, the parentage as Cody said shouldnt produce offspring of that color, and secondly, I actually think I bought it from the mericlone section of the list!! I will definitely contact the vendor to ask his opinion, and if it truly is P. Stone Dance, then I have one special little exception on my hands!! Cant wait for it to be specimen size! This is its first blooming and it has 12 buds so far and a nice cluster on the tip that looks like it will develop more!

ITS FRAGRANT!!!!!!!!!
I took it out of its growing area to take more pics today and noticed a beautiful smell coming from it! I have never smelled any phal with a scent like this! It smells just like a floraly Cattleya smell! The color is impossible to get right in the pics, but its a silky, shiny dark rose, with a base color that looks bright purple. And the callous is so electric yellow, it just pops out at me! I am so in love with this plant! I cant imagine the smell that will come off it then it has multiple spikes one day!
