It is also possible to mix moss with bark and/or coconut chips, lava rock, hydroton.
It also depends on the pot. Plastic keeps the medium damp longer than clay or net pots.

sometimes I use leca / lava rock at the bottom and moss on top. the top dries fast in a dry apartment
