Default Peat moss?

Does anyone use peat moss in their mix for phals? I read that there are mixes based on peat moss and wondered if they work well.

I use Better-Gro Paph mix which has chunks of peat moss mixed in. I have good success with it.

There was a link to an article about growing orchids in peat moss on here some time ago. If you are interested, I will see if I can find it. I was interested but nervous to try. It's hard keeping some of my Milts moist and I thought mixing it in with my fine bark would be better than sphagnum. Or maybe coco fibre. For my Phals I figure their big roots need more air pockets to breathe so peat moss might be too fine. But when you consider epyphitic orchids growing in water (SH), anything is possible

Sky Island Orchids used to grow all their Phals in peat moss alone. He hated to water, and it seemed to work for him. Not so much for me. Root rot seemed to set in as soon as I brought them home.
