Super mini phal...
I got this really really dark colored paphiopedilum in bud a couple of weeks ago and it finally opened this week. I liked the color, but the flower shape was all distorted and I wasn't happy. I went back to the store and complained a bit. They agreed to let me exchange with something else.
I brought home three super little phals. It is soooo tiny but cute. I say it's a great trade!
Unfortunately, I don't know the name for these little ones. I see them quite often though.

I will post a pic soon. It is the smallest thing I ever seen! Leaf span is about 5in and it stands about 5in tall (to the top of flower spike).
I think I've seen a bigger version of the almost identical looking plant in a flower shop before, so I will have to see how big they get in the future.

Picture of the whole plant and more!
You can see part of my hand holding the pot, so it is a pretty small plant. The flower is only about 1 inch across. I thought my Phal. Sogo was mini, but these are real mini!
I got a few of pink colored ones as well that are almost identical except for the flower color, and the leaves are very lightly mottled.
These little guys seem to be very sensitive to changes.
I have 6 of them and only two of them have maintained all the flowers and the other 4 are drying up their flowers and buds. I have bought these little guys before and they never do well here for some reason, while none of my other large phals and other orchids do such things.
Well, they seem to be common in the flower stores so I will have to keep trying to keep them alive. lol

I've heard of the name Timothy Christopher. I knew they were mini, but I thought they were like Sogo size. These are soooo tiny, but sooo cute as well.
Happy Thanksgiving!
