I hope you get them soon for your sake!!! normans is usually quick on the shipping that is strange.
They redid their website. So when you check out they give you a calendar of possible delivery dates. Choosing a date will reveal possible delivery options, such as 2 day or overnight etc. so I guess the soonest 2 day would be available is nov 30th. Booooo! Lol I hate waiting.

Default Changed Delivery Date manually

funny thing is I just ordered from Orchid.com/Norman's and the date thingy also happened. I was going to order on Sat for delivery Wed, but couldn't make up my mind. I then ordered on Sun ( 11/27 ) and the earliest date for delivery popped up as 12/7. I experimented and manually changed the dd to Wed 11/30. I had read somewhere on the website that they would e-mail if the date was unsuitable. Well I got an e-mail this am saying that my order has shipped........so the moral of this.....too-long story.......is to push the envelope
I am getting a violecea indigo. I have never ordered from them and hope that it arrives safely. Weather forecast not too good.

I know!! to be honest Ryan...... I hate the New Website!!! its harder for me to find what I'm looking for. I really liked the old set up i could find everything i wanted!

I have only had one problem with normans and that was like 4 years ago. I have never had another problem since. They used some kind wire to stake my flower bud and it dislodged in shipping and sliced the stem right off and it only had one so i paid for a in bloom plant with no flower i sent it back and they gave me my money back no problem.

They are very good about shipping in bad weather! i got two plants from them last winter they plant had to travel through a big storm to get to me and they came perfect with flowers and buds! Norman fang really has a Stand up operation there in California! I'm sure you're guys plants will be fine!

Problems do occur but its what happens after that makes a company good or bad in my eyes.

Well the plants arrived today. The box was enormous...

I didn't get to open it until this evening.

The first out of the box was the gigantea hybrid. I bought the in bud in spike plant.... No buds but what looks like a spent spike :0( should I query them on this one? I was so stoked for a bud but it does say in spike on the site as well...your thoughts?
It isn't a terribly nice phal.... I've gotten much better from them.

Next up is the Corona.

Uh yeah...digging this one...

Last is the Hilo lip type...this is why the box was so huge....the spike is enormous.

So there you have it... My newest additions. The problem is, this order made only a small dent in my wish list, but a huge one in my wallet.

Default Violacea - indigo

I got mine today as well. Happy with the plant and the packaging. Interesting that advice is not to repot for at least 30 days.
Regarding your gigantea. I think you should point this issue out to them, say you are disappointed and attach a photo. No harm in that. See how they respond....maybe a phone call is better.
Presumably there were no buds that had broken off in the box? I seem to recall that no orchid online vendor warranties safe arrival of buds or spike....

yeah i would let them know. id call them personally. technically its listed as in spike. but when you buy a plant in spike, you assume its not a spent spike.

the schillie is starting to take well to the SH by the way

OH AWESOME!!!! Im Loving the Corona myself!!!! I cant wait to see how the Hilo Lip opens up!!!!!!!

That is disappointing about the gigantea hybrid!!! i was hoping your experience after waiting would be perfect! I hope it all word out the way you want! they do say that they cannont guarantee buds/flowers but the spike should have been viable. it may be sending out another spike soon tho.....

The leaf span does not look to terrible......I think i will have to order it!!!!!

Thanks for the support guys. I emailed orchids.com but agree a call would likely be a better idea but I hate calling people... I don't know why-- never have and so email is God-sent for me, until I get no response or get mad, then calling isn't an issue!

With that said, I've had a problem once before with Orchids.com sending me a plant that was definitely not the plant I ordered-- they asked for a pic, I provided, and even followed up but to no avail so I'm not hopeful. this time I will call if they don't respond, though! I promise....even though I hate the phone...

I like calling because it's easier to be intimidating and getting them to do what you want.
