Does anyone mist their phalaenopsis?

I mist the Phals at least once a day. The mounted ones, 3-4 times. Now this is MIST, not soak. As long as they dry out in a reasonable time there should be no trouble at all. Its good for the plants, think about how much moisture they're exposed to outdoors. (Our morning dews here, soak everything, summer and winter, but its usually dry within an hour).

I live in hot and humid Mississippi, and I have found that misting can lead to rot. I used to mist, but since I've stopped, I've seen fewer cases of crown rot and the phals don't seem to suffer from lack of humidity. And I imagine Florida has even more oppressive humidity than Mississippi. I just water mine thoroughly 2-3 times per week, and once a day during intense summer heat, and they do great! Every single one of my winter blooming phals has a minimum of two spikes right now.

Hi all, I mist my phals each morning, but I aim the spray up so that it falls onto them like a fine rain. So far it seems to suit them, I am in the UK.

I live in a dry climate and I mist the leaves and roots every morning, not sure I would if we had humidity here. They do exceptionally well for me.

I don't mist the leaves, but I quite often mist the aerial roots when I'm doing my mounted plants.
