So I was looking at pictures of Sogo Yukidian online, and I am amazed! There are pictures of huge plants with up to 3 spikes and full of flowers. I was wondering if anyone knew how to get these same results?

Here are links to some of the pictures I found.

I have no idea how they do that. It's very impressive.

My understanding is that these plants are not allowed to flower for several years before these exhibitions, and the infloescences are trained on wires as they develop.

i heard that they use some technique where they cool the GH for a period once the spike is there and then heat then cool then heat, etc.

the spikes elongate from that. not sure if this is true or not

I'm not surprised if they play with temperature. One of my orchid growing friends plays with temp to but on his displays (get all the buds at once), worth it for the ribbon.

three spikes is not hard to do on a large mature plant with many leaves like the one shown. I get that on my monster phal. The length of the spikes though....wow. I never get anything like that!

I can't wait for mine to bloom. I bought it off ebay for $15 and it currently has 2 spikes. I'm scared i'll kill it though. What orchid media did you use?

I have heard this as well. I wish I could try it out to get this many flowers (in a healthy phal of course), but I just don't have the proper equipment to control the temperature.
