Leave it as it is now! I had the same dilemma with Dendrobium phalaenopsis (i know, different plant, just telling what might happen). The plant flowered continuously four spikes, approx. 2 years. I thought, that wasn't healthy, better stop it. So i cut the 5th spike as it appeared. I did much wrong, as all of the leaves fell off and growth was inhibited for a year. Nothing happened, naked canes just stood there sulking. It is all right now, it grew new cane (and is flowering again, crazy plant
