I don't know if you've seen this link before but it has some very interesting guidelines in growing and producing spikes/flowers.

Hope it can help people grow their phals better. Must try to find cultivation notes for other types.

I have the Dutch commerical Phal growers' growing guide, and much of the info is similar.

Once again I see that it's a general cooling down period that induces blooms, NOT a large day-night variation by lowering the night temp, which is what you hear all the time.

That's right. Also, when the spike is between 2 inches - 8 inches keep the temps between 65F - 77F until the spike is past 8 inches. This should give you lots more flowers apparently. I'm trying it with 3 of my phals. Will let you know what the results are.

Great info. I don't have a green house, but I'm going to try manipulating the temps. in the window sill.
