Thanks for all the great info. I have the Dutch commerical Phal growers' growing guide, and much of the info is similar.
Once again I see that it's a general cooling down period that induces blooms, NOT a large day-night variation by lowering the night temp, which is what you hear all the time.

That's right. Also, when the spike is between 2 inches - 8 inches keep the temps between 65F - 77F until the spike is past 8 inches. This should give you lots more flowers apparently. I'm trying it with 3 of my phals. Will let you know what the results are.
