True, but it would be nice to see some nice full spikes, I just didn't think the blooms would be so damn sensitive to change!! I didn't get to see it in bloom last year. I was living in the Netherlands, and it was stuck at my parents in France until I could go pick it up.

Bud- I often get lucky here with Noid names. When I got my Noid (that turned out to be schilleriana x stuartiana) the grower (huge commercial grower) was so helpful in getting the name for me, and we emailed back and forth quite a bit discussing orchids. That's rare, most never reply to emails!

Most orchid growers are responsible and they care. It is mass production growers and hardware or grocery store managers who are careless and they dont care about the plants if tags are lost...but it never hurts to go and find out from the source(they have databank lists and receipts of delivery); its the first thing I would do myself too.

As soon as I put it back where it was the blasting stop. Seems like I'm losing only 6-7 of the total 30 buds. Could be worse!

I'm just having bad luck with this one. Didn't notice that the top of one of the spikes grew into the lights as it finished developing buds, and the top got fried off. Lost 4-5 buds Hopefully I can post more pics within 2 weeks or so, the buds are very slow to open!

On the flip side it certainly is a happy plant. 2 spikes wasn't enough for it, it's now starting a 3 one.

Camille, I think that happens to all of us one time or another and it "stinks". Hopefully the new spike will not give you any trouble. If you don't have to move the plant anymore, this spike is likely going to be the best of all.
