Pronunciation: mik-oh-LIT-zee-eye here is my micholitzii it is considered a mini in sense this one has three possibly 4 spikes and two basal keikei's growing on it

Thanks Dennis for sharing...I have been waiting for a pic to show up on a newly emerging spike...I can't tell if my phals are in spike or if its a new root growth?!
Any tips from you on this?

Is that specific plant mounted?
The center looks very nice and clean and green......mine don't look like that, so I was wondering if it has to do with being potted in bark, and previously potted in moss.

a new spike will look more like a mitten or a hand where as a root will just be round or pointed. most are my phals are mounted as they do better than in a pot. going from moss to bark will take a little while for the plant to get accustomed to the new media as the bark will stay drier than the moss will. i prefer the moss as i dont use fertilizer anymore on my plants and bark robs the nitrogen that the plant needs. so if you are using bark you should use a fertilizer to help replace the nitrogen. most of mine get alot more light than what most will tell you to do as i have learned that they grow much better with a higher amount of light
