Sneaky Phal. equestris 'Fairy Tales' spikes
My sneaky Phal. equestris 'Fairy Tales' has succeeded in producing two spikes while I wasn't watching - to be honest I wasn't expecting anything from it this year. The spikes are a very much appreciated sight since there are only half a dozen open flowers on my phals at the moment.

Those naughty equestris... Always playing triks on us
From what I've found on the net, it's supposed to be a peloric. Can't wait to see its flowers.

I could never understand how people could possibly miss spikes growing. Then it happened to me. Now I get it. Enjoy your upcoming blooms.

Hehehe, yes, it's a very pretty peloric flower, I think and I'm longing to see those flowers too.

LOL! I thought the exact same thing and even though I gave them what I thought was a thorough check every watering I obviously managed to miss these. My 'thorough' check wasn't thorough enough - or at all! lol
