Default Question on Phal cornu-cervi

I got this plant a few months ago and the blooms were much more red than the usual cornu-cervi (see picture below). It is now (still) in bloom and the flowers are more striped, less red (pic below). What could cause this change to happen? Culture? Lighting?

I agree with Dennis, but it may also be something as simple as aging of both the flower and the inflorescence.

Thanks Dennis and Joanna

Should I move it inside where it's a little cooler? I really LOVED the red!

I don't think it would hurt to move it to a shadier/cooler environment.

By the way, if you ever show it for AOS judging, you may want to mention that new flowers are the deep red; stripes and lighter color appears as flowers, inflorescence mature - I'm assuming that's what they do so have suggested it. Also you may want to e-mail David Grove who just wrote a lengthy article for AOS about cornu-cervi. He may be able to guide you with a proper id (origin) for your plant.

Thanks Joanna, I'll look him up. Maybe I can find it on the AOS site.
