I was at Lowes and saw this interesting phalanopsis. It's leaves were different and the I noticed the flowers.

very cool looking peloric!
(peloric: condition where all three petals (instead of just one) attempt to fashion themselves into lip colors and/or shapes.)

very pronounced in this one - I think it's awesome! nice find!

Some orchids will bloom peloric once, and then never again - others will continue to have peloric blooms in the future ...

One spike had all the flowers like that, one was about 50% developed and the last one had frills and dips but seemed normal. I hope it keeps it up. What causes peloric blooms?

I believe it's a genetic mutation - not sure what causes some to bloom that way once, and not again ... (I'm pretty sure I have read here what may cause that, but I don't remember)

I'm sure someone will be able to answer

Really pretty peloric. I don't always like peloric phals but this one is really pretty.
