The first flower of the first spike started to open last night and today it's fully opened.

So far anyway lol. It's a very small flower though, less than an inch across.

I like the form of the flowers.
The color is not bad at all, and I would expect more orange as the plant matures.

My KR (which I received two weeks after yours) has several buds, but it's struggling, with only 20% of the roots left because I didn't repot it in bark right away

The actual colour of the flower is very disappointing, however, it's the first blooming for this plant and I'm hoping for better as the plant ages. The colour is almost pastel compared to the pics I posted. At this stage I don't know if temperatures affect it at all. The flowers, too, are small, barely an inch across which in itself isn't bad but I was hoping for flowers of approximately the same size as Phal. Perfection Is "Chen". I'll give it at least one, possibly two more chances and decide after that whether to keep it or not. Had it been in bloom at a show I would have walked right past it and not give it a second glance.

Before I ordered my Kuntrarti Rarashati I ran a search on the Internet. I found two types of flowers: one with a rounder form, and one much like equestris' flowers. Yours is different, and this makes me believe that the ones we bought are seedlings, not mericlones of an awarded plant. So mine might have different flowers too, even different from yours.

I like your flowers, and I'm sure their size will improve with subsequent blooming. Probably the color as well.

I will love my KR's flowers no matter what, because I bought KR for what it is (an equestris primary hybrid), not for what its flowers look like. I'm in that species/primary phase now and in a couple of weeks I'll be celebrationg one year since I got my first orchid ever.

I feel a little like a parent who hasn't bonded with its child lol. It will grow on me, I know, but it was a let down when I saw the colour. I'll ask the grower if it's a meristem, but I don't think it is either. When I searched the web I too found KR's of differing shades. My one doesn't have KR 'xxxx' or anything, just plain KR.

Mine has bloomed twice since I got it and the color has definitely improved. The plant is larger and more established.

I'm curious to see if it stays that way this year.
