Hey mine is about to open bud, too! It's given me two spikes for the summer. Mine, too, blooms repeatedly and for a long period as well-- the plant is a giver. Does yours keiki?? Mine has sent three basal keikis and all without a bit of damage to the mother plant-- so I figure it's genetically prone to do so.

Thanks for sharing and I can't wait to smell mine again!

Pilot, yes mine has one keiki but there are no spikes from the keiki yet. Mine also has a fast growing root system. I have it in a net pot and roots are coming out all over the place.

Quiltergirl, the vendor described this plant as fragrant but I can only detect a very faint fragrance. Hardly any at all.

That's a bummer... mine has a wonder scent. It is strongest mid-morning and in the evening. For such a small plant, it fills my solarium with it's scent. It's a honeysuckle-vanilla smell.

I should post a disclaimer here. For some reason this plant and a couple of my vandas look more 'blue' in photographs than they actually are. This orchid is a lighter shade and more lavender than the picture suggests.

While I'll admit and agree that this flower is not blue, I will say that your conditions-- especially temp-- changes the look of this flower's color greatly. And though the flower may not be blue, there are loads of hues that come very very close to it.

Mine just opened its first bloom on the new spike and it is very dark-- hard to imagine it's the same plant I had blooming before. However, it has done so in cooler conditions than the last time it bloomed, when the blooms looked a lot like your's, Tucker. The color of my blooms always fade to the lighter colors, though, with time.

This is an old photo but it shows a newly open bloom. The current one is even darker than this one! It'll be interesting to see how long it keeps it's color. I should mention that we've been having moderate temps here in Colorado-- a few days in the upper 80's and 90's but most days in the 70's and 50's at night.
