What kind of parrots do you have? I used to have a blue fronted amazon, and she was amazingly good when it came to my orchids. I could swear that she knew they are important to me!
I love the look of orchids mounted on branches or driftwood.

Wow! How ever do you handle the noise? I miss my Blue front, but my little parrotlet is a nice bird. He talks and has a very quiet voice, but the personality of an Amazon.

I used to have green parrotlets and blue ones too and you're right; tiny bird BIG personality! lol Thankfully, most of my birds are outside with one male caigue indoors - he would freak if I put him outside without TV, wallpaper, phones, cables etc to shred! lol

That caique sounds like quite a character! Isn't it too cold there in the winter, to put them outdoors?

No, the freezing temps keeps the bugs away while those with heated bird rooms toil with infections etc. The colder the better. The Caiques are like parrotlets in temperament; they NEVER slow down except to sleep and are scared of nothing! LOL I would recommend one

Yes, I've known a few caiques. I use to sell my art work at parrot symposiums and exotic bird shows. The caiques are one of my favourites and are known for being real clowns. Actually, we have a neighbour who took out a pane on glass in his front window, so his cockatiels can go outside in their enclosure all winter long. I've seen them taking baths in the rain when it's close to freezing! It's amazing how adaptable they are!

Yep, my Eclectus and Amazons all shower if it snows and will happily bathe in water that had the ice broken lol. Even my little mutation conures like the ice broken to get a bath

I haven't got my bird used to cold weather, but when ever it warms up a bit, I take him outside .He loves imitating the waterfall. He runs in his hamster wheel and sings like a canary!

This thread somehow drifted into a talk about parrots?
I would like to steer back to original thread of the Keiki. Could I ask, how many roots the keiki had, before removing from mother?
