Is this from Norman's? Call and ask to speak to him. I know several people who have called and had to get replacement plants.

The 3-4 cultivars of this I've seen are all solid white and smell good. Its an amazing flower. If you want a different one, Big Leaf had a different cultivar for sale for I think $35 or $48 the other day. Amazing flower.

I hope this link works.. This is a pic of a friends TCC 'Fuller'

I'll do that tomorrow, thanks Ben. Having looked at the website again, I can clearly see there is a huge difference.

I specifically got this plant because of its scent but as I said, none detected. My other Spot Eagle I got from them is mouth-watering regarding its scent.

For now I have emailed them because tomorrow is Monday and all bets are off that I'll even have time to call them!

Makes sense since vanilla bean is a pod of vanilla orchid seeds...

The latest from this plant... no markings-- well, none that you can see in the photo. There still are markings but they're very slight. The markings show up darker when it first opens but then fade. The only thing I can think of that would give me the heavy markings is the fact that it was grown in a much cooler room last year. It's in the basement now and see's 65 at night and 75 during lights on consistently every day.

It has the most amazing vanilla-cirtus smell...makes my mouth water.

I grow my plant in the basement under lights. When it's cold outside our boiler is in use and it heats up the basement pretty well. But it's spring now and it's really warmed up outside which means the boiler isn't working as hard and the room is cooler. This plant is in bloom again on the same spike as the previous photo... Check out the changes. I could be wrong, but I can be very certain that this is the exact same plant and temperature plays a huge role in its blooms for me! The spots are back. Good thing I like both forms...both spots and pure white.

Photo stream is taking its good old time. Pics to come...
