Default 'Stuck' flower

My Dtps. Chain Xen 'Pearl' had three flowers on it when it arrived from Germany. Two of the flowers died and the last flower has only partially open; it appears to have 'stuck'. Any ideas why this should be and is there anything I can do about it.

It's been like that for a week. I'll hang on though and see if it opens. Thank you.

I guess the only thing I can think to say is avoid extreme conditions (like too much heat, light or extreme cold) and -now this really is the pot calling the kettle black- try not to fiddle! if it's well supported by the plant, it'll try and pull itself through

The stalk itself is fine but the flower has slight wrinkling. I'll just wait. It's happened to me before but the flowers never survived. My temps go down to around 60F at night and up to 78F during the day. Think I should raise the night temps? Humidity varies but is generally between 70% - 80%.

Mmm, I can't really comment on temps, but if it's about 60F at night, that's a lot warmer than my place is at night and my flowers haven't had a problem, even in winter. Are you keeping this one on your windowsill in the kitchen? You could move it to a table or something so it's not right by the window at night, that might help regulate the temp a bit, but I don't know if that'll help/ have any effect

Since this plant did arrive in bud, blasting is always a huge risk no matter how good your growing conditions may be. I think it's going to be wait and see with this one.

Thank you guys, I doubt if this flower will open. The plant hangs from my window and any sun it gets isn't hot enough to do any damage and the sun doesn't really shine on the plant for extended periods. The flower itself doesn't any sun at all. I'll just wait I suppose. Thank you again.

I actually have 3 like that on a spike (with one open flower). Two weeks ago I gently opened them further by lifting the sepals away from the bud. They opened further but after two weeks are still only half open.

I have no idea what has happened, unless it got a bit cold while the buds were growing (we had a boiler failure while still very cold weather).

Mine has opened a tiny bit more but it's nowhere where it should be. It must have been too cold after the heat pad cooled down.
