The actual cross is on the photo. This is a mini phal, but it blooms in a big way. I counted 55 buds and flowers at the time of this photo. No fragrance but for some reason, it reminds me a lot of cherry blossoms, I think because of the clustering. All buds and flowers are on two spikes, heavily branched. Maybe not as apparent in the photo, but the spikes are this incredibly deep red-wine colored spikes-- they're gorgeous in their own right.

I'm not familiar with the pollen donor of this cross so I'm assuming its abundance of blooms may come from that plant...?? No idea but yes, it puts on quite a show. This plant will often send a few spikes through the summer, too. Its a plant that is sensitive to temperature. Our warm to hot summer days that go with our cool (50's at night) summer nights sends this plant into spike. Her best show is the end of Winter, though, as you can see.

I found a mealy bug on her the other week, though. Hoping it was an isolated incident. Those bugs absolutely gross me out.

Me too-- they can put on one heck of a show and not take up much space at all!

Looks like P. Sogo Vivien won in this cross. Love yours, Ryan.

I have one of these and it's been in bloom since last October. Still going strong and making new buds.
