P. Sogo Lawrence & Sunflower
Re-blooming for me for the first time. I got this plant last summer from hausermann's.
I don't think they advertise it as such, but, it has a sweet fragrance.
I'm also sneaking in P. I-Hsin Sunflower-- blooming for the first time for me. It, too, has a sweet fragrance and waxy blooms-- a very vivid yellow!!!

Thanks, Bob. And yeah, what a huge bonus it is fragrant! I have a fair sniffer... meaning my wife can detect scent much better than I can-- I often don't smell slight fragrances-- but it's an obvious sweet scent coming from this flower-- so to others, it is probably a pretty mild to strong scent. And yes, it is intensely yellow! The waxy texture makes it pop visually.
I'll try to get a pic of the plant in the coming days but to answer your question, it is a tall spike-- it is staked, but would easily be a long, arching spike-- not short like some waxy, heavier scented phals.

Both are beautiful. I think P. Sogo Lawrence is a highly regarded orchid. I have two phals with P. Sogo Lawrence in their ancestry.

Yes mine seems to have an over-abundance of roots if you consider the plant size versus the number of roots-- it has a ton for sure. As for the plant itself, it is a thinner leafed plant-- strap-like leaves versus the rounded leaves of others, say violacea or bellina leaves. It is also lighter green than most of my standard phals and seems to do better with more light. It is a strong grower, though-- it may seem slight in its substance but it does grow strongly and obviously yields a great bloom. The scent, BTW, stays with the bloom throughout the day. I have some phals that are only fragrant mid-morning and maybe late evening if you're lucky. I had NO idea it would be fragrant but it certainly is!

The fragrance is a real bloomer. I suspect it would have been pricier if it was sold as fragrant.
The leaves of mine seem thinner. Not and less round. But not as thick. But yeah I repotted mine when I got it (was it April?) and moved from a square pot to a round pot, so it moved up half a size. I suspect this spring, I I were to repot, I'd go up in size
You can call me Bob

Yes I agree with this statement-- the characteristics you've witnessed are the same with my plant-- although these aspects certainly don't keep the plant from being a strong grower.

Taken under my grow lights... the colors look amazing in natural light, kinda washed out under the lamps.
