Got one for $3 today!
(The spike had to be cut off, of course.)

Any idea what specie it has in genes? I'm thinking Chocolate Drop or something similar.

Lovely. I thought Chocolate Drop was a Catt not a Phal though but maybe there is a Phal with that name as well

Most of these are so heavily crossed that there could be a lot of things in it's genes. However my understanding is that the dark purple splotching like a harlequin (but in this case covering most of the flower) comes from one specific mutation in a specific plant a long time ago. Could be wrong on that though.

Oooh, isn't that a Calathea Ornata in the background of the second picture? Love Calatheas...

Oh, and the first NoID would probably have followed me home, it's a real cutie.

Whoops thats not working will try again later.
The links you've given can't be used as image links (entered with the image button) but would use the link button (the globe with a chain link next to it). The links you've used point to a web page not to an image. There is an image on the web page but the link is not an image, it's the page that contains the image. This is what makes the difference.

Here are the links for your images...

P1010834_zpscd4f1375.jpg Photo by REEVES11 | Photobucket

Further on your photobucket page there is a box on the right titled "Links to share this photo"

Click on the 'IMG' one, then just paste into your post. It will contain all the code needed, you don't need to use any of the buttons to post images into your post, just click on the IMG link on photo bucket, then paste into the orchid board post. Photo bucket gives you everything needed.

I've corrected your post above, using the IMG option from your photo pages

Thank you Rosie, the terminal spike phal does not want to stop flowering, as well as the two branches you can see a node on that same stem and further up out of shot two other branches as well as a spike poking out of a leaf stem lower down.
Nick.

The one I showed in September last year is in flower again. Should have more flowers this time and the plant is more healthy.

Here's another couple of my NoID's.

The first is like Siken's, I always wanted a Baldan's Kaleidoscope, or one that looked like it. Found this NoID on offer in the local garden center several years ago.

Here's another which is very like Minho Pricess, both in the look of the flowers and in the branching growth of the spikes.
